Huong joined our lab as a postdoctoral associate. We are excited to have Huong joining our gene discovery team and Alzheimer's disease (AD) repeat expansion mouse model team to study genetics and disease mechanisms of AD.

"Hi! My name is Huong, a Vietnamese girl. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Vietnam National University of Agriculture and a master’s degree in Bioscience from National Formosa University, Taiwan. I went back to Vietnam and worked as a researcher in about 4 years at Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. In 2019, to go further in my career, I enrolled a Doctoral program of Biological Science at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. My thesis topic was Unfolded Protein Response, a cellular signaling pathway to adapt with environmental stresses of Endoplasmic Reticulum. I am currently working as a postdoc at Dr. Lien’s lab. We are now focusing on the topic of tandem repeat expansion involving Alzheimer's Disease. Besides the lab, I like to enjoy nature, gardening, and swimming (even I am not good in swimming but it could be improved soon). I also love to talk with my family and hang out with friends in my free time."
