Stefani first volunteered at the Nguyen lab summer 2024 through UF’s SSTP program, and joined the lab fall 2025 as an undergraduate volunteer. She is interested in the genetics of neurodegenerative disease, specifically Alzheimer’s, and hopes to go to medical school. She will be a Microbiology and Cell Science major and is pursuing the Honors thesis program

Mi: ""Hi, my name is Mi, and I’m a third-year Biology major at the University of Florida on the pre-med track. I was born in Gainesville and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I have a strong interest in genetics and am passionate about expanding my knowledge through this lab experience. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, crafting, dancing, and spending time with friends."

Jansen:"Hi! My name is Jansen Reece, and I’m a fourth-year Health Science major on the Pre-Med track at the University of Florida. I’m originally from Orlando, FL, and my interest in neurodegenerative disease research stems from a personal connection — my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when I was young, and I lived with him for five years before his passing two years ago. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to learning more about neuroscience and health equity, including serving as Vice President of the Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s at UF and studying abroad in Italy through a clinical shadowing program at Arcispedale Sant’Anna University Hospital. Outside of academics and research, I enjoy wakeboarding, snowskiing, pickleball, and hanging with family and friends."
